International Mental Health Development Conferences

The International Mental Health Leadership Program initiated an annual series of conferences - the iMHLP International Mental Health Development Conference - in 2002.

The Conference brings together key international experts in international mental health system development, Fellows and Faculty of the International Mental Health Leadership Program, colleagues from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, and representatives of NGOs and civil society organizations with a commitment to improvement of national and local mental health systems.

The intent of these conferences is to create a Forum where the development of effective, appropriate and affordable mental health systems forms the core of the discussion. The conference is an opportunity for senior representatives of government, health and other relevant departments, professional community groups to engage in constructive discussion about mental health system development, and to present and to hear about developments in the field.

The Conference is a key means for strengthening the international mental health development network.

If you are interested in discussing the possibility of the conference being held in your city/country, please contact Harry Minas, Director of the Centre for International Mental Health.
