International Mental Health Leadership Program (iMHLP)
"I sincerely believe iMHLP is a history-making enterprise, building an intellectual network of dedicated mental researchers, professionals, and policy-makers across Pacific-rim countries that will help them implement well-designed policies and services in areas where mental health policy and services have long been neglected and under-funded." Dr Chih-Yuan Lin, Taiwan
"The course fuelled my passion to ensure fair and equitable services in and across countries; the population health approach emphasises mental health is everybody's business." Len Kanowski, Australia
iMHLP is a leadership training program and a global network of mental health professionals committed to mental health system development.
One of the key benefits of participation in the Program is the opportunity to engage with the issues and people at the forefront of international mental health today. The iMHLP is a global network of Fellows, alumni and international faculty in dialogue and collaborating on mental health reform across diverse societies. The network of iMHLP Fellows and mentors is strong in East Asia and the Pacific. We are now encouraging the participation of colleagues from Eastern Europe, India,Africa and the Americas. A stronger and broader network will create increased possibilities for collaboration in research and service development, and the opportunity for members of the network to learn from, and to support, each other. The Program is open to professionals from all disciplines that can make a contribution to mental health system development, including psychiatry, psychiatric nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, and mental health service administration.
